Wuts needed for 35 12.5 on a 1500????

Wut will i have to do to fit 35 12.5 18's on my 03 silverado ?

BIRCHZ71 01-22-2010 03:16 PM

welcome to pt......what yr truck? 2wd? 4wd? need some info

BIRCHZ71 01-22-2010 03:20 PM

Also im not sure if anyone makes a 35/12.5/18
Closest thing I know of for a 18" wheel is a 325/65/18 which is roughly 34.9" tall with and 13" wide.

gblauf 01-22-2010 03:25 PM

6 inches of lift, 2 or 4 wheel drive. You could also do 4" suspension lift and a 2-3 body lift. I think body lifts are ugly but they are cheap!!

BIRCHZ71 01-22-2010 03:37 PM

I can tell you if you are 4wd a 4 in suspension lift if plenty for a 35. I have factory keys cranked and a 3 inch block in the back(1 inch lift) and run 34's that are 13 inches wide with zero issues. Also if your 4wd, a small bodylift would do the trick.

:stupid:
you may even be able to get away with a 2" lift and hacking on the front bumper. Rears should fit no problem with 2"+ lift

zachm89 01-23-2010 10:46 AM

I had a 3" body lift and some bushwacker cutout fender flares on my 03 z71...it fit 35x12.5's with no rubbing at all. Although, for the price of the body lift, those flares and all the labor, i would just go with a 6" suspension. you dont NEED to, but its the route that will look the best in the end.

3 inch body lift if its a 99-06 4x4 will fit a 315/70 which is equvilent to a 35x12.50. And i believe its mickey thompson that a buddy of mine has on his truck that is a 35x12.50

My brothers truck. 3" body lift and 315/70s

This is what I know fits from my own experiences and will leave you without rubbing the tires. Very minimal if you do. And won't leave your truck looking stuffed.

THanks to everybody for helpin me out. I think im just going to go with 33 12.5 18's

mudaholicZ71 02-02-2010 03:06 PM

3" body lift and some T-bar crank you will clear 35's with ease. my buddy had a 3" BL and ford t-keys cranked and hes running 36's with 0 probs. body lifts are fine just make sure you get the gap guards to cover the spaces between the frame. i have one on my truck and nobody can really tell since i have the gap guards.

BLK02 02-05-2010 05:23 PM

Zach-
What brand and model of tire are your brother's 315/70's on the maroon truck ???

Y@ BoY p@Ul 02-06-2010 07:32 PM

Where do you get the gap gaurds from ? And did you put the body lift on yourself i have heard there easy to do?

gmcboy2002 02-06-2010 07:40 PM

pro-comp makes a seven inch kit for 2WDs for 35s! i dunno bout 4WDs. If its for a 18' wheels u r prolly going to have to go metric on the tire size! call 4wheel parts and ask.

matt
p.s. i used to work at discount tire!

Y@ BoY p@Ul 02-07-2010 11:39 AM

It is 18' wheels but i think im just going to try 33's for now and prob buy a 6 inch lift in the summer sometime. But even with a 6 inch lift are you still going to have to cut anythang for 35's?

Generally you are right there, it all depends on how much back spacing you run, I had a 3 inch body lift ONLY with 315/75/16s on stock rims and I didnt rub at all even if I had the wheels turned all the way and hitting bumps

Y@ BoY p@Ul 02-09-2010 04:15 PM

Well my new wheels have a back spacing of 5 5/8's and they are 9' wide so i guess ill have to stick to 33 12.5's right?

supadaddy 02-14-2010 03:49 PM

Kumho makes a 35x12.50x18 i have these in a 33 on my truck pics in my sig

Y@ BoY p@Ul 02-26-2010 11:40 PM

I really like those kumhos how much do they run you?

supadaddy 03-05-2010 12:47 AM

If i remember right they were around 1100 bucks, but well worth it in my opinion, no road noise and great tread wear, ive got 20k on them and no sign of wear at all
