who's runnin a cam and stall set up

Any of you guys runnin a cam and stall set up in your lifted trucks? If so what size?

trever1t 06-07-2006 10:27 AM

Lifted being a key word here.
Usually lifted trucks would be for more of the off road enthusiast, and would not want a higher stall speed or power in a higher range.

Hey man, whats up...

I dont know of any around here or on the site but I know two different guys running 212/218's with TB stalls in thier Z's.. they say they like it alot with the 35" tires and lift... better make sure that tranny can handle it though... you'll be rebuilding it very soon.

Ill be slapping the mudders back on in a few months I have a 223/226 and a 3200 stall. Should be fun  Mine isnt really lifted though, I just run 32's on in during hunting season.

Im running a turbo400 with a 3500 streetfighter, cam is in my sig with 4.10's in my 2500hd on 40s. I have no idea what it would run since the straight axle swap because i cant run it at the track, but it will smoke the 40's pretty good.

The other thing I'd be thinking of is the stock 8.6" rear already loaded up with over-large tires, then adding more torque with a cam and converter. I'd be wincing ever time I did a 2WD launch with a setup like that. Please tell me you have a beefy diff cover and something other than a G80 in there, if not now, then in the works....

silver-mod-o 06-07-2006 12:30 PM

If you wanted to do a shift kit and convertor in that thing man let me know... I have put in a couple shift kits in 60's... doing that and some other smaller misc parts will help that tranny live longer behing that added torque and weight of those tires...I am sure between all of us we can make a day out of a cam and springs and everything too...

They wont let me run it because of the height. Im going to take it to one of the grudge nights, which they just about let anyone run and see what they say. If they let me run, i will see what it will go with a 250 shot. The 12.20 was on a set of 31'' tires and a 125 shot.

I have a tb stall, and a 216 220 comp cam, but most of my off roading is done in the sand dunes. I also had it all in when the truck was smaller with 33's and stock 4.10s and had no problems with the trany or rear end. If you want to notice a big load off the trany and motor put a set of big gears in it. With 5.13s 36's stall and cam I drove up north and still got 12 to 13 mpg while in overdrive the whole way.

joehawkz71 06-15-2006 08:29 AM

im going performance now... see sig for truck specs!! hope to have full bolt on's added soon ( about 1 month)

samdogmx 06-19-2006 09:25 PM

Im running a baby cam (specs in sig) & a TT2600 with 33 inch tires, the stall was the best thing i could have done, It takes off quicker than it did with the stock tires on the stock converter.

black4x4 06-25-2006 05:51 PM
