Got quite a bit done in the past month. I finished the rock sliders/steps and the rear 1/4 protection. I also upgraded the front axles to 30spline chromemoly burfields which is as strong or stronger than dana 60 axles. I also put a aussie locker in there. I upgraded the alternator to a 200 amp mean green to support the winch and power inverter. I got some free horse power by desmoging it and putting a better flowing exhaust on it I almost have the rear bumper done just waiting on some parts for the tire carrier swing out. All I have left to get is a new cluch and a rare 5 speed they made for diesels. Here are some pics.
All of the stuff I made myself in my apartment garage and welded with a linclon 120V mig welder.

well after wheeling last weekend i decided i needed a lower gear so i ordered up a new H55F which is a non usa diesel 5 speed transmission from toyota. They havnt used this tranny in at least 15 years and you can still get it brand new from the dealer. The land cruiser came with a 4 speed with a 3.555 first gear ratio with a total crawl of 29.94 the new 5 speed has a 4.843 first gear ratio and a crawl ratio of 40.78.
A buddy came over and helped me pull the old 4 speed and split the tcase and mount it to the 5 speed. The stock flywheel had alot of burn marks so i had it turned but they wouldn't come out so i have to go in the morning and order a new fly wheel. The previous owner said he had a new cluch put in but from the looks of it the cluch was quite a few years old. I picked up a clutch kit from toyota too.

Got back late last night from Moab. The Land Cruiser did everything i wanted it to. The new tranny, front and rear lockers and 2 low mod made everything pretty easy. I just wish I had a few more days out there.
