Default Not enough vacuum

How much vacuum is required for optimum brake operation. I’ve read anywhere between 14-19. When I’m at idle I have 10, but once I place it in drive it drops to 5. Brake suck, get the service brakes warning on the DIC, but then goes away. When driving it feels fine, but have about 12 when coming to a stop then will drop off to 8-10. I will be pulling about 7000 in the future. Do I need a vacuum pump. If so, what are you guys using. Read my signature for the low vacuum.

found a system, Leed Brakes bandit vacuum pump. Might give it a go. I would do the hydro boost, but to source one, install, then I’m sure there will be issues with ABS, warning lights etc. Leed vacuum pump might be my best option.

Idk how much that vacuum booster is but I think I paid less than $600 for my hydroboost swap and I used all brand new OEM parts. The difference in braking performance is incredible!

379 just for the pump. Are you having any issues with the ABS system? I want to make the switch, but nervous to do so. I now there are some good posts on here for the “how to install”. I’ll look into it.

I'd convert over if you retain abs, stabilitrack, etc...

So I installed the Leed brake vacuum kit. The system is top notch. It’s super quiet and easy. Night and day to what I had. I have my OEM brakes back. It’s no hydroboost but it’s simple and efficient. It’s the round contraption next to my helper bag pump.

Hardest part was determining where to place it. 2 wires, ignition power and ground. The system has its own inline fuse, relay, pressure switch, hardware, and hose all self contained.
