Default New Gears??

I just got a 5.3 LT. i have had mustangs/trans ams for the last decade and been modding the hell out of them but this is my first truck. I dont plan on doing a bunch of mods to this to make it fast necessarily but was wondering about doing a gear install. in rwd cars one of the first things we do to make it pull a little better is lower the gear ratio, i dont want to spend alot of money doing performance mods to this but would gears make this feel a little bit more powerful? also its 4wd, would i have to do the fronts also?? i dont plan on doing off-roading mainly just driving around town but the quicker ANY vehicle feels the better hahaha. any opinions?

if you want to just do the rear gears you can, but DO NOT use your 4wd tell you regear the front also, to make sure Id remove the front drive shaft tell you regear the front, also Id go with 4;10 gearing

in your truck I dunno it could be 342 372s like mine or it could already have 410s kinda unlikely though, there should be a code telling you what gears you have in your glove box.

And thanks

Did you buy the truck new?
Yes, if you are going to swap gears then you must do the fronts as well, what would the point of buying a 4wd be without being able to use it?
What size tire do you have and do you plan on changing it's overall diameter?

I wasn't knocking your suggestion, just pointing out the futility of it, no offense. I think I'd rather wait and save so I could afford to do it at once rather than in stages, it's not like it is something that HAS to be done now. Just my opinion.

lol, I forgot to add lol onto my last statement i knew you werent knocking it, but if hes anything like me, he'll sacrafice something he doesnt neccesarly need for a while to gain some go fast mods. Id consider doing the back and not using the 4wd tell I could afford to do the front

the codes for the gears are on inside of your glove box, as far as translating the codes I cant remember right off, do a search and you should be able to find them
