I think I can get away w/ a 4” drop on 2nd tow vehical pls advise

Image 07 Hummer H2 trailer kindof level

I’ve used a similar SUV a Saab 97x w/L33 5.3 engine same tongue height an used a 2” drop.

When towing w/ Saab didn’t pay much attention to tongue height. but can say the tongue wasn't near as level as the H2 is w/ the 4" drop.

4 inch drop ball holder shank is larger1 ¼” than 9 inch drop which is like 1”

I think I can get away w/ a 4” drop on 2nd tow vehicle H2. Chevy express 1500 & 3500 are primary TVs both use the 2” drop.but the vans are very low tongue height.

here's the 4"drop ball holders specs.using a pipe wrench an long cheater pipe I just removed the 2 5/16" ball.

the trailer tongue coupler needs a 2" ball.

I think all I need for the 4” drop ball holder is a 2” ball w/ 1 ¼”x2 5/8” shank

.
what do you Guys think should I use the 4" drop ball holder w/ a wider shank or should I use the 9" drop ball holder w/ a smaller 1"shank an drop to 5 or 6"?

edt: I was at the store the other day they had chrome ***** an a dark grey none chrome finish which is better for a saltwater environment?

edit2: vessel/engine gear fuel ect . plus trailer total load is less than 4500LBs

edit3: I've never towed w/ the H2 I hope the spare tire mounted to rear bumper won't interfere w/ my trailers spare tire.
thanks for any advice.

The trailer weight is not going to stress either one. Just by eye-balling the pic, the 4" drop receiver is going to provide a tight clearance between the tongue and H2 spare if installed. The 9" drop receiver set at ~6-7" looks to place the trailer level and would gain some clearance for the spare. So, use which ever gets the trailer most level and clears the spare.

dam I already ordered the ball for the 4" drop earlier today. for a few reasons 1. the 9"drop is bent but stlll usable.
2. I'd need a extra pin lock
.3. I'm assuming the 9" w/ those pins will be loose an rattle alot. mines missing the tightener bolt.

I thought the 4" was a much stronger ball holder.w/ a stronger 10K shank.either one of the spares can be kept inside the H2. which mite be better so some scumbag won't run off w/ either I could lock the wheel lug on the H2 spare then an keep the trailer spare behind the seat straped down.

so is trailer in above image level enough?
BTW I'm now considering the relocation to western panhandle, perdito key, FL ever been there?

thanks

here's the H2 w/ spare tire an 4" drop looks like enough clearance.
