Default Damn Wheel Bearings!!!!

My 03 chevy has a 6" Fabtech with Bilsteins and 35's......and if I even look at a bump the wheel bearings start going out !! Is there any aftermarket ones that are tougher? Or Ive heard a Cognito lift has no issues with wheel bearing problems due to design? If thats the case Ill sell the Fabtech and dump on the Cognito.

The wheel bearings on 99-07 NBS trucks are pretty notorious for being cheap. The only "tougher" ones around are made by Blitzkrieg Motorsports. Expect to pay $950 for just the hubs or $1150 for the hubs with ABS sensors.

X2 The factory style suck and are expensive to replace.

The conversion they offer basically converts to a snout style spindle and standard weel bearing wich are way cheaper if you actually manage to ruin the bearings...

Blizkrieg is just one of many offroad fab shops That offer this type of conversion.

To be far to everone, ( I am NOT affiliated in any with with any ones shop )

Camburg Has a version of this too. (I am not fan of them though)

I believe Kartec in riverside also sales a kit.

BTW How old is the lift kit??? I believe the earlyer ones had issues with exssesive ball joint wear. They redisigned the kit to drop the rack and lower control arm mounts down to help correct this issue.

I feel the bearing pain but have some good news for you. I called GM the other day and despite the fact i was out of a warranty period and despite my lift they said they would continue to replace the bearings under warranty because they knew about the crappy situation with them. I am working on my 3rd set in 3 years at about 60,000 miles

do those of you that are experiencing this problem have some crazy *** size offset in your aftermarket rims that could put extra stress on the bearings?

I've got stock rims w/ 295/70R17 tires and my wheel bearings went out, replaced them with NAPA premiums and haven't had a issue since, friends are running the same in some off road mining areas without failure. Maybe check out Napa, they seem to work very well for the $$$ over 100K miles on a could that I know of with 305s on 16s and no failures.
