Default 97 2500 Silverado.... Finally.

After years of having to ask buddies to borrowing their trucks I finally got my own. I wanted something that was able to pull my camaro with ease and still be affordable. I can't afford a 70 grand pick up..... so after talking to some old friends I stumbled across this 1997 2500 2wd 454ci truck for 1700 dollars. Tranmission is a 4L80E. It's a 3/4 ton.

It runs great like it suppose to. It needs some attention to the rear brakes and the driver side window motor needs a replacement. Upgrades right off will be tint on the windows, and a aftermarket head unit then im considering paint the stock rims black and replacing the center caps with some new ones. Might strip the side molding as well and replace it with a simple 454ci emblem.

Nice truck, I'd ditch the chrome on the wheel wells. It tends to hold moisture and make the fenders and bed rust faster- plus I think it looks better without it

IIRC they are just stuck on, you can remove the adhesive with a rubber eraser wheel

I need to find something like that, everything around here is thrashed and overpriced. Plus, most are the 5.7L variety. Can't beat the price, looks like a nice truck.

Thanks for the compliment. Most trucks around here on this body style is half ton trucks with a 5.7 or smaller engine... then like you said they trashed out. The worst part of the truck on the inside is on the driver side of the seat it has lots of wear. Otherwise the body is solid with no rust. I think a buffin job with some meguirs will bring light to the old truck.
