Default 3.73 to 4.30s

Hello everyone im new to the group and have some questions i currently have a 00 gmc sierra with headers, cai, tune basic bolt ons my goal is to cam the truck and get the btr stage 4 currently im working on building my rear end but am stuck on deciding what gears to go with, rear end went out and swapped off a 04 silverado but have no idea what gears it has tuner said it had 3.73s but no real way to tell. Im wanting to go with the trutrac and some gears just need help, truck has 265/75r17 but i also throw on some 265/40r22 occasionally. I like to roll race off of 30s 40s so on and want to see what gear would be best all around stick with new 3.73s or go 4.30s? Im not worried about the gas but just want to know whats the best route to go with thank yall in advance!

I really like 4.10s in mine but 4.30s wouldn't be too bad

how do you like them on the roll racing? Around 20s or 40s do you feel like you loose power on the top end or does it Keep going?

To find the ratio is easy, spin the yoke by hand and count the rotations or count the ring teeth and divide by pinion teeth

i went with TrueTrac & 4.30s from open 3.73s in mine and am running a BTR stage 3. if you're in Abilene, let me know & you're more than welcome to drive it (so long as you know how to work a 3rd pedal).
stage 4 woulda been too much for my taste, but i also pull a 5k lb trailer every now & then.
since i do a good bit of highway driving, i probably would've done 4.11s if i did it over, but the 4.30s ain't bad by any means (just expensive). shoot, put my foot into it at 65 in & it'll pull clean to 100 easy... in 5th gear with 33"s

For 30 & 40 rolls I’d do 4.10s. It also depends if you do a lot of highway driving. I turn 2500 rpm at 70 with 4.10s with 29.75 inch tire height. 4.30s might be too much for highway driving but it all depends on how much your willing to sacrifice. I like 15-30 rolls as well as 55-65 rolls with my 4.10s
