4.56s are a great idea with those tires, I agree 100%

You don't have to worry about warranty anymore with the lift and tires installed. If you pull anything with the 3.42 it will not come out of 4th gear. I swapped my gears out to 4.56 and got my truck back. You are also probably getting 8-10 mpg right now. After swapping I am getting 14mpg. That 5.3 doesn't have the power for that gear ratio.
Lol I dont know how you drive bud, but i am not have any of those issues.

I get roughly 14-16mpg. I had 22mpg before the lift and tires.

Shifts just like it did with my 33 stock tires. Maybe your foot is to heavy???

Yes my warranty will go bye bye if i swap gears. Ive called and asked bud .

EDIT: Nope i dont pull nothing, my motorcycle is the only thing that i will "pull" and its in the bed of the truck.

He was saying that you have already voided your warranty anyway so you might as well do gears

I put the same Rancho lift kit on my 2010 GMC All Terrain. I really like the kit and the way the truck looks and drives. But, since the kit does not include a front differential skid plate, I am concerned that the front differential is a potential candidate for a rock hit. Rancho does not make a front differential skid plate for that kit; therefore, I will get one made for it. The factory differential skid plate will no longer fit. Did you have a differential skid plate made for your truck after the kit was installed?

No, we had to ditch his skid plate. Like you said, it wouldnt fit any longer. His truck is mainly for highway use and driving on lease roads to rigs and such. It was a bit dissapointing it wouldnt fit, but not to much of a concern due to the way the truck really gets used.

Yeah I wasn't sure what your dealer would have to say about it; obviously your suspension components wouldn't be covered by GM but I can't see any issues with the powertrain warranty. I would regear it to 4.56s if it were my truck just to get the torque back (hell I've considered regearing my tuned 6.2/3.73 truck to 4.10s and I'm only running 285/70-17s). All in all nice setup

You can cut and trim that skid plate, but just like my cousin said, i wasn't to considered about it and just went with out. It wouldn't be to hard to make your own or go to a metal shop and have one fab'd.

4wheelparts.com has skid plats from rancho. Might have it actually but some reason the website wont load for me. Rig internet sucks. Lol

I get roughly 14-16mpg. I had 22mpg before the lift and tires.

i would be tickled pink if i was getting even close to 22 mpg....17 tops with cruise control at 70 mph is the best i have seen.

Looks killer! Same lift I had on my 04. Great quality lift you will like it. I don't know if it came with extended brake lines or not. Just keep an eye on them. I ended up putting braided lines on. I was getting some rubbing.
Take care,
Matt
