2004 Silverado Z71 Suspension lift help.
 

2004 Silverado Extended cab Z71 For weeks I've been looking and comparing lift and I'm tired of it I need some help, all this is new to me. I've always had cars and wanted a truck now I have one and I don't know what to get. So far I've got a Bully Dog programmer, Flowmaster with 3" dumps, K&N CAI, Throttle body spacer. Was looking into 35X1250X20 but I don't really want to have to change my gears. I want the best lift for the money. I know everyone has there own opinion but I'd really appreciate the help guys. :bang:

I have run Superlift 6'' and Skyjacker 6'' lifts.

I prefer the Superlift. Cheaper and comes with truss bars.

35's your gonna have to do the gears. 6'' of lift and 33's looks fine too.

Big tires and low gears are gonna be hard on the 60E.

Yeah thats what I was worried about was messing my transmission up. I was looking at this set up hopefully it will show up so you guys can tell me if its good or not.

I want 35" but I think I need to wait till have money for gears.

Let me know what you guys think good set up or not. Does anyone know if i need the Superlift Dual Cardan Driveshaft SUP3287

I ran 35"s on a stock 60e with stock 3.73 gears for over 50,xxx miles with NO trans issues or power issues from the gears. In fact, i could burn the the hell out of those tires with ease. My advice would be ditch the programmer and get a custom tune, go with the 6" suspension lift of your choice (i would recommend fabtech but its whatever you like) and a set of 35x12.5 tires. As long as you dont beat the living hell out of your truck every single day the stock trans will do fine and the gears shouldnt be an issue. If you really want to get some security in the trans install a shift kit, servos and billet accumulator pistons.

EDIT: I also wouldnt suggest the nitto's...theyre a very soft tire and tend to wear pretty fast on lifted trucks, especially the mud grapplers...they end up looking like big black donuts within 20-30k miles. I ran both BFG a/t's and m/t's and loved them both. Toyo also makes a great tire, their Open Country M/T is awesome...a friend of mine runs the toyo in a 40x15.5r20 and got more than 50k out of his first set.

I run a Fabtech 6" and 33's.I've never had a problem with the lift.The tires are up to you.I like 33's for a few reasons.One thing you need to remember with 35's, they are also harder on all your steering components.

Who has a Superlift I see they have a regular 6" and the f.i.t which is better, is there any difference at all.
I know I need to sell my Bully Dog System I want to get a Nelson tune. I've tried selling the programmer on craigslist for the longest time.

its the cleanest looking lift with not having to drop the torsion bars.
im planning on running 33x12.5x17.
iv had 35s on this truck and its very hard on ur front suspension and ohh man dont get me started on the tranny... if you want 35s your gonna need 4.56s BAD...

I was looking at that one for a long time but 4wheel parts don't sell it so I went to the Superlift with the Bilstein Shocks 5100 series. was going to order tires and rims and have them install kit. Inless someone tells me better and a different shop in San Antonio 78258 area to get it installed. So far they have told me 600 for install. Thanks guys for your help I just don't know what route to go I do know I'm going to get the 33x1250x20 Toyo M/T.

I had 35's with 3.73's = suck

Replace with 4.56's and awesome. There is no way in hell you wouldn't notice a power difference with 35's and stock gears especially with a 20'' rim.
