Default Teaching myself Tig welding

So i hVe wanted to learn to Tig weld for a decade. So i was finally in a position to invest in a machine. I have Mig welded for 15-20years now, still just OK since i dont do it enough. So i practiced Tig welding for weeks on steel since it was cheap. I learned alot and bugged alot of members. Messed up alot of tungsten and melted a few pair of gloves. Today i finally tried aluminum. Man it was FUN!!! To me it was a bucket list day. So freaking excited.

I bought myself a welding table from northern tool then i messed up the top so i got a 1/4 plate for the top if it which helped out a ton.

Here is the table before the plate

Looks good, what machine are you running? I've been practicing as well but it's hard for me to just sit down and just weld scraps together. I've been working on some pie cuts for my exhaust.

Looking good! I'm still trying to teach myself but haven't quite found the sweet spot for aluminum. What are the settings you are using for the 1/8th inch? What filler rod? 120v or 220v? I'm running the alpha tig 200x.

I am running a Miller Dynasty. Settings were 120 amp with a 1/16 filler rod. I forgot the type of rod.

I am going today to get some 3/32 rod

Everyone said buy bigger than you need. I just wish there was a model between the diversion and dynasty.
