Struggling to make a double flare...

So ive tried about 10 times with 2 different flare tools and its still not working. This is the rear brake line on my 99. I tried adding heat before flaring it with a propane torch but that didnt help...the tool is as tight as it will go and the tube still slips out before it starts to flare. I tried drilling out the top slightly with a 3/16 bit and that thinned the wall but still slipped. Also tapered the top with a dremmel and a file, but its still not working. Im getting really frustrated with this. It seems like it would be easier to buy some new hardline to run from the abs module all the way back that is easier to work wit than the stock stuff...

heres a video...

This is why my line lock isn't installed.

Is that the rental flare kit from autozone? Also is that the metric or standard kit?

I had the same problem. I had to put the tubing holder in a vise to get it to grip the tube.

It's similar to the rent one, buy this one is brand new and its standard.

This is the only tool you should be using to make double flares on steel tube...

You need to completely close the end of the clamp that the tube is closest to first, and then tighten the far end of the clamp.

I can tell by the gap in the clamp that you tightened the clamp at the far end first, or did not close the end near the tube completely.

It can be a pita, I see you have ground the angle on the tube. You can ruff the tubing up some or grind away some of the tool it self it help pinch the tubing. What make is the flare tool you are using? Cheap ones tend not to work as well as a higher end one.
