I was at northern tool today and the 120v hobart flux/mig welder was on sale for 380 bucks. Not sure if it came with the gas hook up or not but then get a bottle and you are done for under 600 easy.

Looks like a few guys are going for Hobart's. I will definitely look into them thanks.

Thread is a little old but here is my 2 cents. I would look for a TIG welder. Its a very precise weld leaves a beautiful bead (depending on user lol). You should be able to pick up a Lincoln Invertc V155 fairly cheap. Add a bottle of argon and a tig rig and you're ready to weld. If you have any questions hit me up. I have a Hobart 145 which is awesome with the gas setup.

I have a Hobart 190. I've used some really expensive Miller Mig welders at an old shop and my Hobart runs just as good. As for TIG, the Everlast units seem to be fairly popular for their price points. No first hand experience with them though.

Have you looked at Eastwood welders? great welders are a very affordable price

Lincoln pro mig 140 here and it has been great. I have no other welding experience to compare it to though.
