Press break for the shop bores

Hey guys so I seen this tool that Eastwood makes and instantly realized how much I could use something like that.. We'll.. eventually I hade to make some clevis's to connect my HD tie rods I made to the center link of a Gm IFS truck. I knew I needed that press break to bend some 1/4" plate steel. I went through the drop pile I have at my shop (all materials from the local metal supply stores drop pile). Best deals ever if you aren't aware yet.. Anyways I whipped this up and it works like a charm. The main press is 3/8 steel I cut and ground a 90 on. It attaches to some DOM slices I made that fit over some rod I found.. Which presses the metal into some 1.5" X 1.5" angle iron that's supported by 2 more pieces of pipe I had I think the pipe was DOM or sch 40 idk anyways. Works like a freaking dream. Bends 1/4" easy peasy. I plan to make a bigger one to bend 1/8" plate so I can make larger boxed parts like control arms etc.. Anyways I wasn't to concerned about the looks as I was its functionality. I hope this helps someone. It can be built for next to nothing I bet I have under $10 into it.

Of coarse with this pic one could imagine ways to improve upon

Maybe find some springs someday so I don't have to persuade it open every time.

Had to take a pic of these cuz I was proud. Decided I needed these when I bent 3 tie rods in 1 afternoon. Those are the clevis I needed to make. It's hard to make the double bend with that break it hits the side on second bend, I think next time I need to make a piece like those clevis's I'll cut a hole through the main blade/press of the press break with the plasma torch so I can make the double bends easier.

Nice! I love those DIY jigs that are handy, simple, and cheap. Good work!
