Default Plasma torch?

Who has one? What brand and it is 110v or 240?

I ordered a snap on standard duty that is 110v and is good for up to 3/8th. I don't expect to cut anything thicker then 1/4 so it should do fine. I just buying the best so I am nervous since I didn't get the big boy. But $2300-$4000 was a big jump when the one I bought should do what I need it to.

ive got a thermodine cutmaster 38 thats good for up to 3/8 thick cuts its 230 volt 20amp. i also use a esab at work that cuts up to 3/4 and sever 7/8 thats runs on 230 as well... im kinda partial to my thermodine it makes great fine line cuts on thiner material compared to the esab and has a smaller torch head for the hard to reach areas compared to the esab...

note the plasma cutter rates up toward the top of my list of tools my air hammer is still number one for tearing things apart!!!!! haha

Only down side to that is that I don't have $1600 to shell out. I already have a line of credit with Snap-On and had payed my balance down enough that I could afford a plasma cutter. I really wanted the kick *** one that cuts 1/2 and severs 3/4 but the differance from $2300-$4000 was big enough to get the one that should easily do everything I need it to do.

I certainly know if I had cash there would be plenty of other options that cost much less and are as good if not better in some cases.

The ones I buy for the shop are thermal dynamics, good up to 1 1/4" and are very reliable. Seems like I've been paying around 3700 for them. 240v

I have a Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38. It cuts up to 3/8 and severs 5/8. It's a 110v machine, but now they have the CM 39 which is a dual voltage 110v/220v machine. I wish I had it. Mine cuts great, but I had to wire a dedicated 30 amp 110v outlet with 10ga wire to it to keep from tripping the breaker when I turned it up.

I was gonna buy a Miller Plasma Cutter to match all the rest of my miler welders, (3 of them) but my welding guy said I shouldn't. They repair more of them then the TD's and the consumables are cheaper on the TD's. I think I paid around $1200 for mine.

I have a Miller Spectrum 3080. It is a few years old now, and way cheaper than it was when I bought it. At that time it was the biggest single phase they offered. It says it is rated at 1 1/4", but I have cut 2" just showing off for one of my buddies when I first got it. It is still quite a machine.
