Here's some stuff I have been working on. Everything I do is designed on AutoCADD and printed with a MakerBot Replicator 2.

Gauge pods for the cubby / airbag switch location. 1-1.5 hour print times

I have a 52mm design and a NX controller design.

Also designed a switch plate to replace the snap in plate under my radio, plate took 25 mins.

This technology is so affordable that alot of new companies are using it for Rapid Prototyping.

A lot of old companies are using it too. I work at HP Inc., yes we are a new company now, but we used it before we split too. My fiance's company uses it for prototyping as well.

I have looked at them. Their one piece pricing is kinda high but theor volume pricing is really good.

I use a different company that offers a "prototype" material which is alot cheaper to check fitment. It is brittle as hell but saves money when testing a design.

I work for a company that sells what they call a "metal laser sintering hybrid milling machine". Basically it's like 3d printing but has a mill on board to finish parts. It's designed for things like mold making.

I am told it's close to 1 Million dollars.

I was in a company sponsored solidworks course this week and now I was a 3D printer.... so many wants, no little monies
