Looking for Trans builder Houston
Haven't been on the boards in what seems like forever, but anyway. Looking for any advice from people who know any reputable 60e builders in the Houston area. Specifically Galleria/Uptown area.
Thank's guys |
Century is probably the best, but quite pricey.

Thanks for the input man, the more options the better.

Well I will be the first one to say it. Don't waste your money on another 60e. It doesn't matter what you do they all go pop most sooner than later. Just swap to a junk yard 80e add a shift kit and let her rip.

gamble,
i know the 80e is a "smarter" choice , but i would like to keep the ratios of the 4l60e, and also keep the "factory" fit, rather then having to add a brace, excessive wiring etc.. |
If i was going to do the 80e swap, i would have to find a shop to do it also and i see that unlikely. With my schedule, i rarely have any free time, let alone weekends.
Thanks guys |
The 80e swap is much easier than in the past. Several guys have developed nice tubular crossmembers for the swap. No need for any other bracing or changes there. The wiring is straightforward as well. Many people make simple harnesses that make it basically plug and play. I get the ratios portion except being boosted you would benefit from the 80e ratios. Just saying it's basically the same job as swapping to a built 60e for less money and a stronger trans.

Circle D built my 60e and it has held for a couple years now.

Thanks for the opinions guys.
