Anyone willing to help with Diff?
#1
OK, so I started having a howling sound in my diff. I think it is the pinion bearings, so I felt it was a good time to go ahead and just rebuild the diff. Called around and most place want $400 just for labor.
I have been reading and reading and feel like it isn't easy, but something I think I could handle. The question is, would someone in the DFW area be willing to help me? I would rather not buy the tools like the pinion depth gauge and magnetic based dial gauge.
I really would like to learn how to do it also. Wouldn't mind throwing in a little bit of money to help cover someone's time and tool "rental".
Thanks!
