Don't too much care what the splash screen says as long as the radio works.
speed-o repair doesn't require a TECH 2 to fix, the BCM and TECH 2 are required. Are you sure there is no wiring mistakes, nothing like an ipod or external xm add-on issue? I have see where the radio is invisible to the BCM but it plays music, but you can not code the truck.

No external add-ons at all.

The dealer tech said that the BCM could see the radio; he gave me the radio part # that the BCM reported it found, which was correct; but that this radio just wasn't in the list of possible radios that the Tech2 considers valid for the vehicle VIN.

The speedo needs the vehicle VIN to work, although it might not need a Tech2 to put it in. Not sure how they go about putting that into it. Gonna give em a call and see what they can do.

Update: the speedo place did something that made it work. Not sure if they deleted the old VIN and the radio found my new one, or if they actually put the new one in, or what; but it works. YAAAAAYYYYY!!!

Thanks for the follow up, I believe they prob... modify the internal chip by cutting it. lots of youtube videos about it, not the way I like to do things but in a pinch it works I guess.

Default Lux amps

Need a little help. I am installing a TNS from a 2008 Avalanche ltz into a 2009 chevy 1500 Silverado. It been unlocked by the dealer, but the volume is not working. It's on full volume. All the steering wheel buttons work except the volume. I take it I need a LUX amp, but not sure part number, or will a lux amp work from a 08 avalanche?
Thank you
Sean

This article is for GMT 800 trucks older style trucks, NOT GMT 900's. Maybe ask in the GMT 900 section of the forum and report back your findings so that others may benefit.

I have a 2004 Yukon Denali and would like to add a factory touchscreen navigation headunit. I have RPO codes UQ7 and Y91. Do I have LUX or NON-LUX?

RPO codes for my 2004 GMC Yukon Denali
