Here's the sub enclosure I built for mine. I wanted it hidden and didn't want to take up space. I cut the floorboard, built an enclosure with MDF that sits into an enclosure I welded together to the floor pan, then built a floor above the subs which are flush with the floorpan:
Two Alpine Type-R 12" subs underneath 3/4" plexi illuminated with white LEDs.
You can tell the enclosure had to sit a bit off center due to the fuel filler line on the driver side that I didn't feel like relocating:
My stock cargo mat over the "false floor". Sound from the subs come from the two slot ports at the rear:
Here is an amp rack I built for a customer underneath the 2nd row seats of his 04 Yukon. Two PPI amps, a 4 ch and mono block. The removable covers are frames I built with MDF and stretched over with speaker grille cloth to let the heat from the amps escape:

Wow, I've never seen a box cut thru the floor like that before. Finished product inside the vehicle looks great! Very innovative. What did you do to protect the box from the outside weather?
I like the amp boxes under the 2nd row, too. Could you tell me if the seats folded flat with the box installed?
Thanks for the pics, and 2 new ideas for me to consider.

its not pointless, the point is that he has a very stealthy box with a pair of 12's in it, and has little or no footprint. not everyone needs 2 15" l7's. some people prefer sq over spl.

And I think what smok'n is saying here isn't that he should go bigger, but rather if you are going to put that much time and money into the sub build, why not put a top notch sub in there (but I think the Type R's are top notch with quality and performance, and hard to beat their price)

If you don't need a crazy system, with a steath install MTX has this product...

And, iirc, I charged the customer $300 to build that amp rack.
I dont have any pics, but I'll see if I get a chance sometime this weekend to snap a couple for you.
