Water + Electronics = bad

2008 GMC Acadia (my wife’s car)

There are a few defects in assembly that allows water to enter the cab.

1. sunroof drains get clogged
2. passenger side has a spot where rain water will enter the cabin and drip on top of the IP BEC (fuse block) that sits right under the glove box
3. Driver side kick panel area

Mileage 1526xx

Pictures speak for themselves. There was water in the IP BEC when I pulled it apart today. Not moisture, fucking puddled water.

Currently it’s dead. Parasitic drain caused the battery to die 2x this week.

I ordered a used one from eBay. Pins look to match up so it should work, if not, we’re scrapping it.

It’s a wonder the SOB didn’t burn to the ground.

Here in Florida for me is no sunroof, t-tops, or convertible. I did the t-tops once and will never do it again.

The underlining really drives the point home! I'll never water my electronics again after reading that. :thumb:

LOL

I'm still trying to decipher the incoherent babbling of amphibian horsehit of what he called a response.

all his responses are like that, I thought it was a spam bot at first but now I think its just a buffoon with a phone lol

Yet, water+electronics cost me $1000 on the C5 recently too, so I feel this pain

I got lucky. I bought a used $80 panel from fleabay and installed it and it fixed all the weird gremlin issues.

Then we parted ways via Carvana.

Curious about the Carvana experience, was it everything you dreamed of? Decent price compared to Carmax?

It was a great experience. I have a few coworkers that have bought through them and loved it.

It’s a soft pull on your credit vs a hard pull. Your financing terms are available after the pull and are locked in for 45 days or until you force a refresh.

Pricing was better than Carmax. We didn’t have to deal with the salesman crap. That was nice.

Yukon was delivered in the rain on their rollback and was as described/shown online.

We ended up with a 2015 Yukon, 4wd with the max trailering package (rpo NHT). It’s an SLE optioned with leather.

That's good to hear for a car guy, I see a considerable amount of their trucks rolling around town and always think "No way I could buy something sight unseen". Even though that's what I did with my RCSB but, back then the process was much less ideal.

Did you try putting it in rice?
