Default speakers and head unit help

i drive a regular cab 03 sierra 1500, and i installed 2 kicker comp 10's ( nothing great in my opinion) behind the seat, so i have a little bit of bass, my delima though is that i have the factory head unit and door speaker, i dont know the sizes of the speakers i should put in and which head unit to put in? any good suggestions? i really dont have the money to do both right now so which should i do first and whats the sizes for the speakers?

I would have stated with the head unit before anything else because all your other audio comes from it. that being said, if you are going to run aftermarket amps look for a unit that has a 4 or 5 preout voltage so you get a good signal and the amps sound the best they can. Also, you will need the special harness for an 03 and you could do a double din if money allows.

I know that alot of people like the flip out or an in-dash but I used a pioneer flip out with only a 2v output and added an 8v line amp for 50 bucks and still spent alot less going this route....plus it sounds awsome!

but if you dont want a flip out you can get a deck with 4 volt preouts that will be fine for >$200.

alright the 2 10's should actually sound pretty good in your truck...the reason i'm guessing that they don't is because you have the stock deck...once you get the deck & that hi-lo converter out of there you will notice a world of difference...but if you do decide to go with speakers you have 6.5 in the doors & 4x6 in the pillar...keep the 6.5 in the door...pick up some JBL Power Series components & get rid of those 4x6 & throw a pair of 5 1/4 JBL Power Series components back there...
