Default PAC and GMOS adapters?

I have a 06 Chevy Silverado SS. It has a Bose 6 speaker w/sub system. Truck also has OnStar. I dont use the Onstar and never will. I want to keep all the factory equipment and only replace the radio. I have read that both PAC and GMOS have problems, can tell me your expirenceses with both these adapters. Also any recommendations on a radio. I had nav. before and used it 5-10% of the time if that. I have the Droid so I have nav. on my phone. So I really dont think i want to dish out the extra money for a nav. radio, just a good 7in touch screen Double Din radio.

functionality in my 03 ss with the pac oem-1 if fine, and all the steering wheel controls work fine. I kept the indash 6-disc but added an amp and subs.

however, either due to sun or vibration i just had my second module crap out. the module alone is $25-30. Not too bad to replace and I am going to try some other things to stabilize behind the radio. No experience with the GMOS. This go round I am adding an ipod connection for the aux input.
