Looks Good!!
Which head unit is that the CDA-7998 or the CDA-7997? I have the CDA-7998 going to a JBL 4 channel to push my cerwin vega door speakers and an 8" amplified rs series bazooka.
How do you like those kick panel speakers? Do they get in the way of the e-brake and getting in and out of the truck?

The kick panels I bought new off ebay for $140 a while ago. They were that dark blue color and I tried to paint them to that tan but the color is off a bit...hence why my Stelathbox is different also. They give excellent imaging up front...mine are setup with JL 3 way components also. I have a little cute 4" midrange driver in them now but up to a 5.25" driver will fit in there.
I considered buying two 5.25" midrange drivers to stuff in there for more surface area but after reading the manual a few times before my install I decided not to. I figured this 3 way setup was designed for 4" midrange not the 5.25"...doensn't mean I would not like to try it in the future but I'd like to get them bi-amped first.
Yes the e-brake is rendered useless as of now. I have no idea how to bend it to clear the kick panel. You do lose footwell space but I am used to them so it doesn't really bother me much.

I have those same kick panels with Diamond Audio Hex Series 5 1/4 in them. How do you like them? I think they really throw the music in your face. Nice set up!
I am VERY frugal when it comes to buying car parts espically audio, retailers are just way over priced. I buy almost all my stuff mail order or heavily discounted new. I paid a little over $400 for my Stealthbox new! That was with a pretty good deal from a guy I know who owns an AutoSound.
I do all my own installs, saves assloads of cash, and that way if something goes wrong it is my fault. I really need to get a good "tune" over my stereo with setting the amp gains and parametric EQ for the truck.
Did you guys know...when a speaker is rated at 60watts RMS that is over the full 20-20000Hz area; so when you toss on your X-overs with a 24db/oct slope at say 100Hz your RMS rating increases as the speaker can play louder and cleaner! Cool huh? I picked that up from a buddy of mine who used to own a custom audio place that now has hung up his pliers.
He's pushed over 100 watts RMS through some drivers for with proper crossovers and they are fine...you just need to look out for your inline passive X-overs as they can melt with too much power!
