High output alternator

Default High output alternator

i just installed my 1000/1 jl with the 12w7 and my alt isnt keeping up....

anyone have any real experiance with any brands? i know a lot of the really high outputs just blow up after a little while... my uncle owns a shop that builds them do you think he shouldj ust build me one up or should i invest in something?

let me know what you guys have got.. thanks

We have always used Ohio Generator alternators at the shop where I used to work. I have one of their 200 amp units on my 98 k3500 and it has been on there for over six years and 200K miles.

i would just have your uncle build you one. that would be the cheapest way to go IMO but he would have to probably use the 145amp alt. housing to build it to 200amp or more....

edit: the shop here says $1 per amp ($200 for 200amp etc.) which i think would be cheaper than many QUALITY aftermarket alt. at the same amp rating.
