Help mounting my amp in a rclb
I built a custom box for my 10" sub behind the center console, as of now the amp is underneath my seat but i want to screw it to the back of the cab. How do I go about doing that? What screws should I use and how long should they be? Pictures would be a big help too! thanks guys!

i used 1" x 8 SS screws from lowes but it all depends on how your amp's mounting holes are drilled. the best place to put it is right behind the driver's seat. (the easiest place to run wires ) I ran mine right through the console by the way.

throw a piece of 1/2" or so MDF behind the carpet behind the seat...use liquid nails to get the wood to hold to the metal of the cab & then just mount it back there

why do you want to move it??

Some amps are designed to run mounted vertically. My txa300 overheats like a bastard when it's horizontal.
I took a 1/4 thick piece of wood, glued 1/2" mdf to the end so the 1/2 pieces were in the grooves of the back of the cab. Lined it up and screwed it in. That way you dont put holes in the cab and you can't see any wood because it's behind the carpet. |
Just mounted behind the drivers seat like everyone else. Simple and easy to access if you need to get to it.

Yeah, just whatever floats your boat I guess. I didnt have a choice in the matter since my sub box goes all the way accross the back wall.

I haven't touched it yet, I don't think I am going to move it but my buddy wants me to build him a box and install all his stuff for him so I might have to mount his to the back of the cab. He has an 09 ecsb but he has 2 12s I haven't even looked at it yet cause he is always running around with some new girl. :hump:
