On Monday the 2500HD is going in for a stereo system, the system will be comprised of the following:
Alpine 9815 CD Head Unit/Xm Radio
JL Audio 12W7 woofer w/ custom box
JLAudio 300x2 Amplifier
JL Audio 1000x1 Amplifier
MB Quart QSD 216 Seperates for the front doors.
For the rear door I'm going with a small pair of MB Quarts I had saved from my previous system in my 1994 GMC Jimmy, these are going to be used just for a fill.
I'm also installing my Alpine CD Changer which was also saved from my previous system.
This thing should THUMP!!!!!!! I heard the new W7 series from JL are one serious woofer. The 1000 watt amp is powering the woofer alone
The 300x2 will power the front door MB Quarts and the pre-amp in the head unit will be powering therear door MB Quarts.
Any comments on my choice of components?

You picked all my favorite brands, I had the same trio of names in my Ford Ranger X-cab and Mustang GT. Back then I was just a stereo nut and didn't care much about hauling ***.

The brands I picked have been my favorite too! I've used these brands in my last 2 systems, and now this one! Great minds think alike!

Well...two things, I would use a 4 channel amp for the fronts and rears. You will get much more tunablity from it that way. Since you going with high quality out of the gate, might as well keep it there. Second, there is no reason to have a 300 watt amp on the surrounds. IMO it's a waste of cash. a 75-100x4 will be all you would use on surrounds. I have Boston Acoustic surrounds in mine on a 75x4 amp and it's PLENTY.
You will definntly rock with that setup, but personally, I would use one of these:
JL Audo 300/4
JL Audio 450/4

I just bought me an Alpine 7998 (one w/o built in amp) and it kicks ***. I formally ran a bunch of 1998 model Clarion stuff and it was just time to go. It comprised of head unit, seperate DSP, and CD changer...now I just have it all in one. I will be buying a DVD/CD changer at some point, a few 6.5" monitors, and an indash monitor too...gotta keep the friends and family entertained.
My amps are a JL 300/4 and a 500/1. I have JL XR 653's up front in kick panels/doors and Infinity Kappa plates in the back for fill. I have a 12W3v2 Stealthbox for my bass. My stereo is very clean and loud as I use 24db/oct x-overs. Fronts are around 80Hz, rears at 150Hz, and sub at 80Hz w/ isafronic (sp?) around 23Hz.
I do plan to bi-amp my components up front by using the front of my 300/4 for the midbass drivers (low pass on amp, high pass on deck...giving me a bandpass x-over) and get a 300/2 to drive my mids and tweeters. Drivers are pretty hard to kill with good clean power, just have to keep an eye on my x-overs so they will not melt. This will give me far better control over my sound.
I would also consider bi-amping that W7 by using two 500/1 amps. It would probably be cheaper to do that than to buy a 1000/1...depends on how frugal you are.
A 450/4 is a good amp for a quick install. 150x2 on the fronts and a 75x2 for the backs, that is going to be your best bet.
Your charging systems will begin to suck a bit now too, I have only a Yellow Top Optima, but really could use a 180A alternator. My lights dim pretty good with the stereo pounding with the A/C w/ electric fans off.
Are you gonna install this stuff yourself? If so, great. I'd consider buying some used parts and such as well as picking up everything mailorder.

i used to run an alpine headunit, but just got a clarion MP3. i like both brands. i personally like the RF amps. i think they throw out alot more power, plus take up less space. i am yet to post pics of my new fosgate power amp. i have it putting out over 1000W mono,

RF amps make more power sometimes but it is not always CLEAN power. Distorted power is what kills drivers. I have never heard/seen a very high quality stereo running RF stuff. I see Kenwood, JL, PPI, Kicker...and a few Zapco, Xtant, and MacIntosh amps running quality parts.
Not to start a flame war, but there are far better amps with way more adjustable features.
