Gauge cluster lights dim and shut off randomly.

So since I've had my 2005 silvy the gauge cluster lights act weird. The gauges them selves all read perfectly fine and don't jump around or anything like that. But the lights will randomly shut of and then somtimes they just go dim and then shut off. Its wierd at first I thought it was a bad connection or somthing that was being activated by bumps but I have even noticed it at idle sitting still. If I mess with the dimmer switch somtimes the gauge lights will come back on but it only lasts a few mins before they start doing it again.

I havent torn anything apart yet but I did check the fuses and they are all good.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

You could try a different switch as sometimes the contacts go bad. You could also try taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts. Some time's this helps

The clusters also occasionally have an issue. Some times the solder joint is loose in side at the circuit board.

I've had my gauges redone by GM Gauge Guys 3 times now. The leds start to flicker within weeks of getting it back. Its driving me nuts. Any ideas why?

I would look into that switch. Mine actually failed so I swapped it with another one.

If that's not it, contact Digital Dash Solutions. They seem to stand behind there work.

Man...I don't like the sounds of that. I had my cluster done by them about a year ago and the LEDs starting flickering within a couple months as well. I've been out of the net for a while and am sending it back to them for repair but I don't feel like playing postal tag if its going to continue to be an issue...
