fuel gauge acting wacky....
havent been here in a while, but my fuel gauge in my 99 sierra (5.3) is acting funny.
i put a new fuel pump in about 2 yrs ago, so i dont think its the sender. i think the cluster is just going bad. but i know on this truck the signal goes through the ecu first (if i remember right). so does anyone know how to tell if its just the cluster? or am i looking at an ecu problem? thanks leon |
Wow, wish I cold help you on this one, but have no idea.

i almost guarantee you its the sending unit. the last fuel pump i replaced did it straight out of the box

Senders are way too common. Titans have a recall right now from like '09s to '05s I believe. Most have ~3k miles. |
Yeah I just replaced the sender on my 2001 sierra it was just going to zero spiradically I found the sender on Ebay for $20 it just unclips from the bucket my senders points were completely worn off, plan on getting a new gas tank locking ring as well mine is almost rusted through!
