Default Decibel reader???

Does anyone have a decibel reader we can use at the spring VMP event? We (extendocab (aka-seth) are trying to put on an audio competition as well for you guys interested in doing so.

I have termlab (the official dB Drag racing software and mic). Too bad you didn't live closer as I will not ship it. i have had it since my days in the competition audio.

1999 dB Drag Racing World Champs 1-2 sub class. Highest SPL 171dB (official).

Krambo, want to come out and join us................we'll put up a donate jug to cover your gas expenses.......LMAO

You sound as if you might know something about them anyhoo, are they expensive, is it something that can be gotten or built easily. With stereo stuff, I just leave it stock or take it to the audis store here and let them do it, clueless about audio stuff.

i wouldn't suggest the road of trying to make one. you'd have to be an electronics engineer and a computer programmer.

you need a lap top to run the termlab. if i remember right, it's about $600 for the set up. i've had mine a few years so i don't remember exactly. comes with everything you need for the spl portion. extra features like big display bars, RTA, will cost extra.

see if you can't get a bunch of people to chip in. maybe get one and have entry fee's to cover the cost.

Yeah, most people wont loan one because the equipment is VERY epxensive. When we bought our Audio Control RTA the damn thing was like $2k!

Your best bet is to hook up with a local audio shop and see if they wanna go in with you on the show and run the audio portion. Thats how most shows are ran around here.
