You need a custom tune to enable them permanently. The Tech2 can only do diagnostic and test functionality, not enable them like factory.

05 was the first year for the 2 pin connector on the alternator on the trucks.

RPO code KG3 for the 145 amp alternator.

I have installed the efans in my 04 shorty 4.8 used corvette/camaro fans built my controller (about $30)

have LED headlight/fog lights, JL audio sub and amps usually cranked up stock 105 amp alternator no issues slight drop on the volt meter when they kick on but my z06, my camaro, my friends 2012 & 2014 silverado's all do it an those are factory installed

i can cruise in traffic radio & A/C blasting knock on wood no problems

The biggest issue is normally people dont upgrade the alternator and do not change the tstat at the same time. Most trucks with the fan clutch have the lower output alt. Upgrading that as well as the anemic power cable from the battery junction box helps out significantly.

We will be working on a heavy duty hybrid with upgrades that includes everything needed but is alot cleaner than the nelson harness.

I didn’t change the t-stat when I did my fans and it runs at exactly the same temp as before.
