amp wire route
I'm looking at getting some advice on how I should route my amp wire from the battery. I looked at my brother's and his runs over and passed the radiator shroud. Did anyone do anything different? Pictures would be nice.
Thanks EDIT: This is on a 2000 Sierra Extended Cab. |
Get a ring terminal and bolt it to the red distribution box on the side of the engine. It is much easier than connecting to the battery. Then just run it down to the framerail and back to the rubber plug under the driver side floor, run the wire through it and then to your amp. Simple and clean.

here is what i did.....
2 battery taps (one for power and one for ground) http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/a...nt=audio11.jpg and here is where i ran it into the fire wall.... http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/a...nt=audio12.jpg |
+1 to that red power box, 100% easier...

thanks 53bowtie. I route mine this weekend once I get my box done. Will post up some pics.
Thanks again. |
+1 to the red alt box, just finished mine last friday night!!
sounds good. needs some tuning tho ha ha |
I drilled my firewall and put in a gromet to run the wires through and then went along the trans hump to hide the wires. I like it better than running it down the door sills, cause whenever I clean my truck I pull the sills and clean there wipe them down and suck all the dirt and dust out. That way I dont need to tuck wires everytime I clean my interior.
