Default SRT-10 Clutch Q's?

So the SRT-10 is a pretty stout truck from the factory and as I understand it, most come with a 6 spd manual. I assume this is a T56 like the viper, right? So what clutch are ya'll running? I know you guys are putting out some good power with a heavy vehicle and I'm wondering what you do to make the clutch live. How do you launch? Are you able to feather it at all?

RC have had problems with thier clutchs. I have a QC so I can't answer the launch questions for you. Go to www.srt10forums.com and do a search for clutches or look in the problem section. All RC come with a 6 speed and all QC are automatics.

I have a RC and have had NO issues with my clutch. At our track (Gateway) I launched hard at 2500 rpms and just dumped it. I didn't try to feather it and didn't need to. The stock Pirelli's bit so hard the motor almost stalled. Still produced a 2.0 sixty footer.

Need to launch up around 3000 rpms and dump it. I think the guys who had clutch issues ran multiple passes "feathering" it.

Hope this answers your questions.

I didn't mean to say the clutch is bad. Just those guys that do some heavy racing have had problems. With proper launches I would guess there are not many problems. The main problem is that QC's are faster then RC's.

LOL. We'll see about that this spring.

I only got to do 2 launches on the last day of track season. I am installing high flow cats and a CAI next month. With a little more time launching this baby I should be solidly into the 12's as well.

btw, love your videos. Makes me want to head out to the track right now.
