Is there anything you could do to retain the factory bw44-82?

 

Unfortunately not. You can either machine down the 4L80 output shaft, but that tends to fail so I don't recommend it.

The other option is to switch to a NVG149/NP149 transfer case.

I received one of the very last of these adapters that Time2Kill/ModernMuscleSalvage made, purchased new on January 9th, 2024. It has been sitting on my office desk this whole time (completely unused in any way) waiting for me to finish the drivetrain on my project car. After lots of thought I recently decided to switch transmissions, so the adapter is no longer usable for me.

I paid $635 shipped for mine, and still have the original receipt so I can show where it came from. The adapter will go for $450 (reduced 08MAY2025) shipped to the first person that reaches out.
