sorry but good luck with their lock up on bigher hp/tq guys , they use a stock sized lock up and cost me alot of money . in turn blew my trans (failed lock up , not at wot but kess than 60 tps and it locked under a few psi and trans over heated , balloned converter enough to make it swell and push my crank forward enough to eat the main thrust bearing) i swapped to a converter with a much better/larger lock up , i have locked at wot many times and is running stronger than ever. imo.

although im sure they can work on mild hp motors , i would never lock it up and expect good. after i tried telling yank what happened and sending a file of my tune for them to inspect i still had to pay for them to rebuild my yank to salvage what i had invested. in short they told me i was doing wot lock ups and it caused it to fail , i didnt and i know it . swap to a convterter they dare you to break under any circumstance, that is what i needed.

my 2 dollars.

Yank has had an issue with their single discs burning up, I can verify that. And certainly not only under WOT lockup. My yank lockup failing last year caused a cascade of new transmissions...had that lockup not fried, my trans still would have been fine. And it never saw WOT lockup. DrX has also had this issue of a yank clutch failing under normal usage. From what I hear, it sounds like that issue has been fixed with their multi-disc, though.

that's basically what it boils down to, finding what works for you. Sorry you had all those issues, that sucks.

I have a yank and I'm pleased. I do understand what everyone is saying but for us low hp guys I think it's a great converter. The next one I get will be there newer multidisk.

I had the exact same issue with my yank PT3200. 5 months of driving and a few passes at the track, my lockup clutch was slipping pretty bad. Had to yank it all back out and send it back in to be fixed. Hopefully the outcome is much better.

I dunno how yalls tunes are setup but id advise you guys to get it to only lock under part throttle.. mine doesnt lock up till i get under 25% throttle so i can get up to speed and let out of the gas some till it locks then roll back in it so its not stressing the clutch.

Lockup kicks in at 4th gr 45mph and unlocks just under 40%

what about if your at 50% throttle?
