Update:
Got it running but something is fugged up with my cooling system. I'm not getting any water circulation so i'll have to check into that later.
Compression has dropped a little to 11.5:1. The L92 heads have a different shape combustion chamber and I had to cut ~3cc's off the domes to clear the head. But it is a more pump gas friendly set-up now which is good.
Also, the idle is just where I was wanting it, almost stock.

dunno? No water circulating ='s 3-4 miles worth of total driving it at a 1/2 mile at a time and let it cool for a few mins. each shot to get it back home. I had help with the cooling system install so maybe hoping the t-stat got cocked and isn't opeing or something like that. I'll look into it tonight but I have to drain the damn coolant and make a mess.....again!

You sure you just don't have an air pocket in there somewhere?

Could be. My expansion tank may not be venting properly since it is sitting at a serious angle now for some reason It has never sucked any water out of the exp tank since initial cold fill. They always suck some in due to air pockets. The pump could just be air bound due to the expansion tank cocked and it having the baffles inside it. I let it sit for 5 mins with fans on high and when I crank it the cold water in the radiator never makes it to the temp sensor and the temp just rises more as soon as I crank it. I'm 99% sure I got the head gaskets on correctly. They are labeled "FRONT" for goodness sake but maybe old Coors Light installed them???

When I first fired up my motor it heated up at idle....although when I drove it around some it sucked all the coolant out of the overflow tank and I had to refill it. Did that a few times and the temps stabilized. I wonder if your WP is shot?
