Congradulation with the engagement, future wedding, and house purchase!
I had to call the mods off as well back in August of 2005. Decided to get married on Feb. of 2006
. Are you sure?????!!!!!
It sucks, but it will start back over again after it's all done.
Hell, since I didn't go on a hunnymoon right after we got married, I had to pull off buying mods once again in June of this year to go on a 7 day cruise in August. They're not cheap either when your constantly doing activities!
Well, now that it's all over with, the mods are coming once again.
I'll have all mods needed by end of January.
Trying to make this damn NPR meet in March!
After these particular mods are done, the house and boat are next! Just don't know exactly where we want to live yet.
Anymore mods will have to be mods that are only neccessary.
Goodluck to you and your significant recurring charges, ooopppps I ment other!
Wish the best to you guys.

we kinda just agreed on a date... but anyways, this house and wedding is going to cost me everything i have for now. but i agree. i am looking in the future so we have a place and settled in, so when im out of school in a year and a half, we will be ready to go. then let the modding begin with a garage to do it in
my neighbors are going to hate me

Now is the time to start a modding savings account with the CLEAR understanding that hot rodding is a major part of who you are and will continue into the foreseeable future.
The marraige and house should be priorities that come before more self-centered interests but you should NOT give up what you love. If you do you might, in the back of your head somewhere, blame her for making you give up what you love and that resentment can grow to take over your feelings for her. Don't give it up, just move the truck mods to the side but not out of the picture. Start a savings account with just a little money and regularly add to it with a clear modification goal in mind. Talk about it with excitement so she knows that you are putting your wants on the back burner but they are still cooking!
She needs to understand that this is not a fad for you but is a part of who you are and will continue.
They often think that after the marraige you will grow out of this or that and she needs to know that she is getting you as you are without thinking you will change.
MAKE IT CLEAR. Say it nice.. but make it clear. Sound advice from gramps... who is on his third marraige, 23 years this time, and learned from the mistakes made.
Edit: As an afterthought... this will sound "cold" but if she insists you give up modifying your truck you need to dump her as quickly as possible. She's too immature and selfish to commit to spending the rest of your life with her.
Marrying someone and then getting divorced is painful. You stand there in front of your God and your loved ones and you PROMISE to do this and that and then later you say "Naw, changed my mind". Makes you wonder what kind of guy you are.. am I really a man of my word?
Be sure you got a good girl (if she loves you she won't want you to have to give up what you love) and be sure you mean it when you stand up there and committ for the duration.
Ok... nuff preachin. Just would like to think my past ****-ups might help out somebody else.
