Made the newscast...
Street racing (in Louisiana) to be watched for even closer...
Fines up to $175, up to 30 days in jail, or BOTH.
Not that any member, registered user, or guest of this site, or any affiliate would participate in street races, but be aware.

Come to FL. It is a criminal traffic offense. The maximum penalties for a first offense racing ticket are one year in jail and a $1,000.00 fine ($500 minimum.) Your car can be impounded at your expense. A second offense within 5 years and you car is forfeited to the State (this means the State owns your car).
