Sweet, Database Error is back.

I kind of chuckled at that. FWW, not that any of you would care, because at the end of the day we all just want the **** to work but our server setup is a "special case". Ls1tech and pt.net are the brain child of a master...sensei Brains. IB still to this day hasn't really fully understood some of his designs that allow us to share userdata bases. It would be too much of a disaster to wipe it and start over so they are always "working with it". It's not the reason for the database errors but certainly makes the approach at solving issues a little unorthodox and quirky at times.

With as many members as the two sites have, a complete wipe would most likely end up in disaster, not to mention the amount of time it would take to rebuild said database... would be upwards of days, if not weeks (depends on the power of the machine).
I say that like I've been doing it for years
... When it comes to something this complex I'm pretty much clueless, on a simple setup however, the MySQL would work... in theory.

Wouldn't it just be a MySQL database that sits in a location that both LS1tech and pt.net can access?

I don't know the main technical crap. I am one of those surface knowledge guys. Knows enough to stay a float...in one place, but by no means could I swim on my own for too long. That's just how it was explained to me. I found out yesterday their (IB) tech department is 2 people short. So, they are only handling emergencies at this point. Which means unless it isn't working at all, it probably won't get looked at right now. Send them an email if you need a job. LOL
