The processes for creating regular cotton and ring-spun cotton are totally different. Regular cotton is made from soft vegetable fibers that are twisted together to make yarn, which is then woven to make material. Most of the industry standard t-shirts, such as Gildan, Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, and other major mills, provide regular cotton t-shirts. Regular cotton is less expensive to make, which means it’s a big seller.

Ring-spun cotton, on the other hand, is completely different. Ring-spun yarn is made by twisting and thinning the cotton strands to make a very fine, strong, soft rope of cotton fibers. Ring-spun cotton t-shirts are more durable and last longer than their regular counterparts, but will also be more expensive, too.

Mostly, whether your t-shirt is regular or ring-spun won’t make too much of a difference. If you’re curious, though, you can probably tell the difference between the two by picking them up. Ring spun cotton feels heavier to the touch than regular cotton, even though it isn’t.

So which is better: ring spun or regular cotton? It’s hard to say. For a softer, more durable t-shirt, go with ring-spun. For cheap t-shirts that you can wear over and over again, check out some of our regular wholesale cotton t-shirts.

ALthough I have seen the explanation of the differences in the cotton and process, I am wondering if any one has some first hand experience.

I am curious if it's worth the extra money.

I think it was worth the extra money. The pricier ones have a better fit and feel.

Can we still order more?

yup, you just gotta find enough people to fulfill the minimum order, which I believe is 10. If you click on the link in my sig you can basically be put on the waiting list until 9 others agree to buy also.

Default Ready to place new T shirt order

So..

I was sent on travel assignment to work at our Huntington Beach facility. I was in SoCal for about 10 days. While there the dry cleaner messed up my ring spun T-shirt and my Intro shirt. Whatever they did caused the graphics to basically crinkle up. It sucks a$$ because that was the reason I take the shirts to the cleaners to begin with.

Anyway I need to order some replacement shirts. I'm prepared to purchase 5 maybe 6 shirts and mix the order up but definitely will get 2 or 3 of the ring spun.

Any of you members ready to place an order? I guess the minimum run is 10. I can get us more than 50% there. Any takers? Thanks. Off to work I go...
