Default Some confusion on the JGP vehicles

I see a vast amount of varying production numbers. What I can tell you is that there were 200 S/C kits shipped from Magnuson. How do I know? I called them and spoke to a female who remembers working on the project. There were 2 Suburbans and 1 H2 made. That's just what the file says for the S/C kits. The burbs were apparently made for some people at JG headquarters. So that makes, Avalanche, H2, Suburban, Tahoe, RCSB, and ECSB. There were no numbers kept for how many of which vehicle. Or which ones had a S/C. Chalk it up to poor planning. I would imagine that the actual number of vehicles produced is somewhere around 1,000. Keep in mind that you can buy Fake or non authentic plaques for the dash. Guess we'll never know. Oh well. I do know that I never saw one in person till I bought mine.

If anyone has any more actual info that would be appreciated. Maybe put it together into a stickey?

Call Joe Gibbs Perormance, although they cannot point you in the direction to buy a damn thing for them, they do keep # productions on them. There were thousands of Silverado's made (single cab/ext cab) and very few Avy's, Subs, Hoes and Humms. 2004's were all Black and from what I was told is they ALL came standard with a Mag SC. In 2005 you could get it how you wanted it. They came in colors besides Black and even came with AWD. You could get just the ground affects and badges, just the interior styling, just the motor components and exhaust or what ever made you happy....
ALL AUTHENTIC JGP's CAME WITH CERT OF AUTHENCITY BREAKING DOWN ALL THE ADD ONS, CORSA EXHAUST I THINK WAS AUTOMATIC, MAG SC MANUAL AND WARRANTY PAPERS INCLUDED, SUPER CHIPS HAND HELD TUNER WITH 2 TUNES IN IT STAMPED WITH JGP LOGOS ON OUTSIDE (THE TUNER IS VIN SPECIFIC AND WILL ONLY WORK WITH PCM OF JGP VEHICLE) THE DASH PLAQUE INSIDE ARE A LITTLE WEIRD, AND CAN BE MADE BY ANYBODY. BUT AS FAR AS I KNOW ITS SUPPOSE TO HAVE #. I THINK IF ITS BLANK CHANCES ARE ITS FAKE. THE CERT OF AUTH ALSO HAS YOUR VIN # ON IT AND ALL MATCHING PAPERWORK WITH THE VIN # ARE STAMPED WITH JGP ALL OVER IT. SOME THINGS ARE HARD OR NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND FOR CLONING. THE JGP BADGES ON OUTSIDE, JGP DECALS UNDER THE HOOD DEF HARD TO FIND OR MAKE. THE PULLEY IS ENGRAVED WITH JGP, THE AIR BOX AND TUBE IS STAMPED, THE MAG SC BELT ROUTING DIAGRAM IS STAMPED ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER THINGS. DONT FORGET THE GAS CAP, ITS MARKED TOO. PROBABLY THE EASIEST WAY TO TELL IS FROM ALL ORIGINAL PAPERWORK WHEN BOUGHT NEW. SILVERADOS WERE AROUND $45K, TAHOES WERE $59 AND UM SURE HUMMERS WERE MORE. NOBODY WAS PAYING THAT KINDA MONEY FOR BASE MODEL VEHICLES 7 YRS AGO.

Or... The Maggie SC on JGPs has a different yet special pain in the *** snout/cone. You cannot change the Pulley with ease like you can on most. Good Ole Joe designed a special housing at the end of the snout to prevent you from pulleying down from the stock. A special pulley removal tool is needed. If you use your basic pulley remover, your gonna tear up that snout. They all pushed 6psi boost as well.

Im sure I know of more, but its 1am.

Oh yeah... Cindy Hernandez is a very knowledgeable employee there at Magnuson. She was there during the Chevy JGP project and is still there. Hell she uses a centercap from the wheels as a paper weight. She hooked me up with a few free pulleys that needed replacement. But 200 def isn't a correct production for ALL JGP's produced. Hell, you can Google JGP Silverados image and the plaque #s are up in the thousands. Same on Auto Trader and Ebay.

I never said 200 was total produced. That's just the number of S/C kits that were associated with them. So you are the guy who got the idler pulleys? I need one!

The numbers on the dash plaques are not sequential. Mine is #287.When I bought mine in april of 2004 in Oklahoma City,i was the 7th truck they sold. they had the first silverados and tahoes that were available. The truck next to mine was like #600 and another one was 800 something. They varied the numbers to make it look like there were more out there.

Ya know.... I do think Oklahoma has something to do with the Joe Gibbs editions. I bought my Hoe in Oklahoma City as well. It was sold new there for $60K and I picked it up from the original owners and drove it back home to ATL. And I remember when I bought it, there was quite a few Silverados for sale in Auto Trader in Oklahoma too. But the Gibbs plant/factory wasn't in Oklahoma, I forgot where it was.
