Default Flex tube intake

I think I may actually be at a point where the stock intake tube is a restriction for me. I want to spring for the Airaid tube but I wonder if I could just use a fex tube like this

I can only assume that if it wasn't a bad idea that others would have done it but I just thought I'd see if anyone has considered it.

I am sure it would create some interesting MAF readings.

Or you could use the 4" Airaid DIY kit from Summitt.

Just get a cheap 4" open element filter from ebay for your ride and trash the filter and the sheetmetal box it comes with.
They are stupid cheap.

I wanted to avoid using PVC. It makes chlorine gas when it gets hot. I think the ebay system would have been the best but I found a damaged box airaid tube for $100 on Amazon so I bought it.

Just to stay on topic, I still think the flexible tubing would work. it would be downstream from the maf and 4" tubing should have plenty of capacity for anything. I guess I should have tried it so I could defend it or prove myself wrong.
