Default Keep Egr?

I have an 01 Tahoe that I am about to start tearing into to. My question is, Do I keep egr for better fuel economy? Or do I tune it out? I am doing a mild build, 6.0 btr stage 2 cam long tubes e fans. I am trying to get the best economy I can out of it. My 2006 didn't have egr, came with e fans and after building it, it got around 22mpgs. The Tahoe is only averaging around 12-13 at best.

Most long tube will come "race ready" which is no EGR. My tuner told me he could adjust timing more with no egr due to lower temps in the cylinder. Now I don't know how true that is but if I drive nice I'll get 22-24 mpg on the highway and 15-17 in city with my setup. My idea is unless you need it to pass a look over visual inspection I'd delete it. Looks better and speed engineering has a oil catch can than bolts there right up.

EGR is 100% for emissions and does nothing for economy.

No EGR creates higher cylinder temperatures. The sole purpose of EGR is reducing combustion temperature.
