So after some careful consideration and going back through the files of what ive done to this truck, i remembered why it is i ended up with the factory block welded to the lift block the center pin they sent with the lift kit was quite a bit larger than the hole in my springs at the time which were my s shaped stock 1500 leafs... Never got the adda leaf installed, then i ended up swapping to a set of 2500hd springs about a year or so later and just left the welded together blocks i had on there... So i ordered a set of 2" add a leafs and have a set of 5" blocks in my toolbox, a set of pro comp traction bars in my foyer (see my traction bar thread) and a set of mounting brackets ordered for the bars..... Figure that should give me about another 1/2" or 1" of rear lift and take care of about all the wheel hop.... I hope anyway!!! tired of not being able to come away from a light without the *** end hopping all over the place!!!
Acquired another transmission pan for the truck today, need get a gasket and find time to install it, hoping to get to it this week, along with finally getting my engine mounts and trans mount installed and headers mocked up so i can finally get those in!! My add a leafs came in today.... Still waiting on brackets though!!!
Ordered a g2 dif cover with support bolts in lieu of a refund for some brackets, debating on whether i want to leave it aluminum or paint it purple....
Time for new shoes!!!!! Truck looks ghetto as hell (pardon the pun) right now, i have 4 different tires on it.... and its bugging the hell out of me..... But i had a nail in the left rear and found a big gouge in sidewall.... So it had to go...
Time to say goodbye to one of the tires that hit a point and wont wear out....
These tires were like this for at leat 2 years before i pulled the truck off the road..... They got here and stopped wearing.... Guess i shoukdnt complain but so much ive gotten, 7 or 8 years out of them!!!
Since the tires i want have been discontinued i settled for a bfg at.... Now to find 2 or 3 more....this exact tire is the d loadrange atko that theyve discontinued and all the ko2s are e load range.... Cant catch a break, every time i decide on a tire i want they discontinue the damn thing!!!! ill probably pick up one more D load range and then swap to ko2 when i kill the two tires on front....
Just noticed its time for a fresh set of lugs, didnt realize how rusted they were..... Damn!!!
Well, my diff cover shipped, weird thing is it says its a rescheduled delivery date, never seen that before.... Either way everything will be here friday....
I will never understand logistics my diff cover arrived at the local facility last night at 11:30 got scanned at 5:30am this morning but still isnt on a truck for delivery not even going to start on my traction bar brackets that have no trackinv update since they left CA
