That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. I tend to disagree.

Not even gona start a pissing match here. A wheel and tail gate is a bit smaller then a hood. It is rattle can, not out of a gun. I believe I have done more then enough of these kinda things, and people have seen my work here on the site and in person. Your not painting a hood unless the conditions are perfect with out some sort of variations in the finish, even then you are going to have differences. A can does not put out the product needed to cover a large area like that before drying. PERIOD

Oh my, looks like I might have struck a nerve. If anyone is attempting to start a pissing match, its you. All I've done is stated my opinion, is it wrong because its different from yours? I think not. See, that's the beauty of opinions everyone is entitled to their own. I'm not going to argue with you lets just agree to disagree and move on.

I would be inclined to see some cars you have done entirely in Plasti Dip. Trying to get an even coat on any large surface with a spray can is just not a happening thing. They don't spray a steady flow, they get gunked up and don't cover a very wide area at a time so you have different sections drying at different rates. There is a reason they make professional spray guns.

I did a large section of my hood never again it also tiger striped and was a pita to peel back of cause of the thin areas so here's picture proof for ya guys. But one thing it does well is hide hail dints

Putting the cans in some hot water might help, but i've only done a badge.. Could the roof (just the very top) be done successfully with cans?

Just saw a video on youtube .. Guy put a different tip on the spray can with a trigger .. Ive used it before on a reg spray paint can and helps spray wider patterns which would help with eliminating stripes.. His came out almost perfect after it dried .. He hurried thru it n didnt wait for it to dry cause he did pin striping also and needed to peel stripe tape before letting it dry .. It looked striped when it was wet but dried nicely ,., i think the key is several layers thick to make it even ,., im gunna do my bumpers soon n use trigger style tip on the cans .. Dont kno when since i work 6 days every damm week bit will try soon

Absolutely, you will have to tape off basically the entire truck though. Easiest way would be to get plastic sheeting and drape it over the bed, hood/windshield, and the sides. I would use the blue painters tape to hold it to the truck. Depending on what cab you have it could take anywhere from a few cans to a whole case.
