what engine degreaser/underhood cleaner?

what are you guys using? I generally use simple green, but i have neglected cleaning under my hood for a while now, and i want to use something thats gonna cut through all the road grime and what not.

Actually, Easy-Off oven cleaner works awesome.

Simple green.

Ive heard oven cleaner peels paint??

A couple cans of engine degreaser, then simple green and a pressure washer will clean up your engine/ compartment.

i use simple green and dont dilute is any....if you dont dilute simple green it does a ton better

I'm a little hesitant on the pressure washer... my luck I will get water in electrical stuff where it doesn't need to be... I might try some oven cleaner if it doesn't peel paint. What about the adams undercarriage/engine cleaner? Anyone use that stuff?

^you'll be ok with the pressure washer, just dont spray your coil packs or the other central electric areas....

skolman91 Jan 2, 2011 02:17 PM

unless you've already replaced and sealed up the knock sensors i wouldnt be going anywhere near the intake with a pressure washer or water for that fact, just my 2cents tho..
unless your planning on doing it in the future that is..

gs7793 Jan 2, 2011 02:23 PM

^and yes or course dont spray your intake lmao

skolman91 Jan 2, 2011 02:29 PM

I meant the intake manifold of course, but i think you knew that.
If you cant spray the intake, coil packs, fuse box and ecm, what exactly are you spraying with a pressure washer?? I guess my point is it doesnt leave much except for the pass side fender well area..??
