Truck bed damage?
#1
My truck in not the one that is damaged I have a friend that knows how to do body repair but hasn't worked on the NBS trucks. He wants to know if the quarter panels can be removed without taking the bed off the truck? He also wants to know if the panels are welded on or assembled in another way? Will a spray on bedliner be any trouble at all? The damage is on the passenger side below the taillight. And the truck has a sportside bed. My friend is planning on starting the work today around 2:30pm.
*I won't be able to get back on the board today so if you could give me a call on my cellphone 832.766.5527. Thank you.

The bedsides are bolt on on the step side trucks
They are welded on on the fleet side trucks
Yes and spray on liner will pose a prob
they are a bitch to deal with - when doing repairs
The truck is sport side - so the side is fiberglass
little more involved in repairing.
repair the backside and front side
Post a pic - how bad is the damage

I probably won't have an opportunity to take pictures of the damage because it is my friend's mom's truck. They live on the east side of town while I live on the north side and I am not on that side very often. The damage isn't very bad but it did crack the fiberglass. The rear bumper was pushed into the passenger side panel which is what cracked the panel. That is the only damage that is visual, so there could be more that I didn't see.
Thanks for replys guys.

I think that is what he wanted to do was replace it but he didn't know how the fender was placed onto the bed. I don't know what he did because he supposedly started working on it yesterday. I might give him a call today.

there not fiberglass , there composite and repairing them with fiberglass will almost certainly crack in the future. take it to a place that fixs bumper covers for body shops, its kinda like plastic welding but more complicated and they can fix then you get it painted.
