I need to take some pics of my truck. I personally just bought one of the really short (almost like a little "cap") antennas. It was a direct swap, 2 mins, you don't notice it at all, and I still get pretty reasonable reception.

Where did you get the cap style antenna?

I just did this yesterday after seeing your post. Cost me about $15 for the panel and the bracket.

great mod did this on my sierra took five mins... did not lose hardy any reception..

I lost a little bit of reception, but I always listen to my ipod now anyway so no biggie.

will the escalade cover work on a 99-02? if so, im goin the the dealership tommorow lol.

i think ill try this. i just took my antennae off months ago. and put a black anodized cap on it. ill try this mod and see if my reception gets better
