My 04 came with XM but I nolonger even have XM in the truck (I never used it and when changed out the factory radio I didn't see any point putting it back in). I really can't stand the stupid "bump on a toad" antenna on the roof. I would like to remove it and perhaps put something else in it's place (perhaps a small light or something......I can work something out) to cover the hole (I take it there has to be a hole there for the wire to get into the truck).

My question is how does it come off?

Thanks

Here's the Removal/Install procedure out of the Factory Service Manual.

Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.
1. Lower the front part of the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Disconnect the cable (4) from the antenna base (1).
3. Remove the bolt (3) and expansion sleeve (2).
4. Remove the antenna base (1) from the roof.

Installation Procedure

1. Place the antenna base to the roof opening.
Notice

Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
2. Install the expansion sleeve (2) and the bolt (3).
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
